Why Blog?
There are many reasons to have a blog; here are some of mine.
To be one of the technorati. I'm not totally fond of technology, but I've been online for years. In 1983 I joined one of the oldest virtual communities, Meta Net, based in Washington, D.C. In the '80s I participated and emailed extensively. I slowed down for a while but now want to join the blogging universe.
Direct readers to news and other blogs of interest.
Keep the brain alive. Especially for older people, (I'm 65) it's important to keep learning and doing new things.
Put thoughts in writing and/or practice writing.
Connect. It's easier to communicate on a larger scale with family and friends than just using email.
Promote. Write about a cause, hobby or special interest.
My children have blogs. My daughter focuses on posting some of the beautiful photos she takes. My son has a wide-ranging blog. As a real technorati, he helped me extensively to create this blog.
